For the benefit of 2.47 billion Gen Zers in the world today, our solution is to teach social media influencers how to Dialog with their families, friends, co-workers, and followers. Here’s why you should learn to Dialog, and teach others that you care about to do the same:
The eldest member of Generation Z – born between 1996 – 2010 – is just 24. 32 percent of the global population – or 2.47 billion of the 7.7 billion people of Earth – surpassing millennials and Baby boomers, respectively.
Unlike millennials – who came of age during the Great Recession, this new generation was in line to inherit a strong economy with record-low unemployment. That has all changed now, as Covid-19 has reshaped the country’s social, political and economic landscape. Instead of looking ahead to a world of opportunities, Gen Z now peers into an uncertain future.
Gen Z is more racially and ethnically diverse than any previous generation, and they are on track to be the most well-educated generation yet. They are also digital natives who have little or no memory of the world as it existed before smartphones.
Gen Zers are progressive and pro-government, most see the country’s growing diversity as a good thing, and they are less likely to view the U.S. as a superior nation to others.
Gen Zers are more likely to say the earth is getting warmer due to human activity.
When it comes to race relations, Gen Zers and Millennials are about equally likely to say that blacks are treated less fairly than whites in this country. Roughly two-thirds of Gen Zers and Millennials say this, compared with about half of Gen Zers and Boomers, and smaller shares above the Silent Generation.
85% of Gen Zers say same-sex marriage is a good thing or that it doesn’t make a difference who you want to marry.
